How to book your dog-friendly holiday cottages

When you book your cottage, all you have to do is let us know that you're bringing along your dog. We not only need to prepare for your arrival but also theirs - putting out dog beds, bowls and treat.

It costs £50 per dog per stay. While we love all dogs, we don’t currently accept puppies under the age of six months.

Extra tips for a paw-some holiday

Packing: While you don’t need to bring a bed or bowls, don’t forget their food and any necessary medication. If your dog gets anxious about going to new places, bring a favourite toy with you as this may make them feel more at home.

On the road: Just like us, dogs need a wee stop on a long journey. Some motorway services do have a dedicated dog area, but check before you stop. Sometimes, it’s better to go off the main motorways and find a picnic stop or roadside café with grass.

While on holiday in South Devon

Not all beaches are dog-friendly in the summer months, so check before you go. One of our favourites, not too far from the cottages, is Goodington North Beach, Paignton (below). When the tide is out, there is a large expanse of beach, plus the nearby park has lots of activities for everyone.

 
If you’re going into the countryside, it’s best to keep your dog on a lead, especially if livestock are nearby. On Dartmoor, for example, there will be certain areas where your your dog must be on a short, fixed lead between 1 March and 31 July.
