Magical Christmas breaks in south Devon
13 October 2015
Looking to spend Christmas away with your children? With the busy Christmas build up coming, a well-timed getaway could be the perfect antidote. How about somewhere you can relax in beautiful scenic surroundings, surround yourself in luxury, and of course celebrate the festive season in style?
South Devon is the perfect destination for families of all sizes to celebrate together, with Long Barn luxury Cottages near Torquay being a top choice for a number of reasons.
No family size too big – With 4 luxury cottages, we have a great range of options. Ranging in size from Long Barn that sleeps 13 people plus 2/3 cots, to Honeybag that accommodates 2 people and a cot, you are sure to find a cottage to suit your families festive needs.
Plenty to keep children entertained in all weather – on site! – Come rain, shine, and of course SNOW! Children will be able to keep themselves busy and active, using our leisure facilities including our play barn (for the younger ones), adventure play equipment, and of course our indoor heated swimming pool! Equally, should the snow not be in great supply here, the heights of Dartmoor are just a short drive away and get snowfall most years.
All the facilities you need: Want to cook Christmas dinner just like you would at home? Or how about a cosy family movie night on a winter’s evening? Not a problem with our fantastic facilities, that give you the perfect “home from home” experience.
There are a wealth of festive events and unmissable activities taking places across South Devon and the English Riviera during Christmas time. What could be better than being able to bring the young ones (and the older ones!) to some of the region’s best attractions and special Christmas events in Devon? Here are a few of our favourites:
Babbacombe Model Village is already one of the most popular attractions to visit in South Devon, with Christmas only making it more special. If you haven’t already visited you’re in for a treat as all of the model village is covered in snow and has lots for young ones to see and do, including a visit to Santa and a pantomime. The attraction is open from December 12th to January 1st between 10.30am and 6.30pm
Enjoy carols and plenty of Christmas cheer, while the children get up close to creatures of all shapes and sizes. You can even expect Santa and his reindeer making a quick stop on their travels. Don’t forget your camera! For more information on show times click here
You can catch the Santa Express on the 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th of December 2015, leaving from Paignton Station and travelling to Kingswear and back. For more information and to book click here.
With beautiful scenery and plenty to do, Devon is the ideal place to escape for Christmas. As you can see there are countless activities to enjoy locally with Children at Christmas at Long Barn cottages, making it the perfect destination for a great balance of family fun and relaxation. Why not book with us and enjoy a wonderful short break in South Devon this Christmas?
