Things to do in South Devon  - April 2016

Paignton is a fabulous seaside town not far from us here at Long Barn Cottages, with lots to see and do, especially in April. Making its annual visit, the Anderton and Rowlands Fun Fair returns to Paignton Green between the 24th of March and the 10th of April. So why not experience all the fun of the fair? With plenty of rides, attractions and of course, food, this is a great day or night out for all ages.

Devon Bear Festival.

Looking for a festival with a furry difference in Devon? Devon’s very own annual Bear Festival will be taking place again during April, just down the road in Newton Abbot. 
 
The bears in question are of course the cuddly and stuffed ones, making this event an ideal day out for youngsters and grown-ups alike. Each year teddy bear designers, makers and fanatics congregate at the Newton Abbot Racecourse to show off their creations and collections. This year the event will be taking place on the 17th of April and will feature everything from antique teddy bears to crafting materials, so you even make your own. Brixham Pirate Festival.

Things to do in South Devon in April

You don’t have to be a Jolly Roger or grow a black beard to enjoy Brixham’s Annual Pirate festival; with so many activities taking place between April 30th to May 2nd, there’s something to do for Captain Kidds of all ages to enjoy.

From re-enactments to live music and costume competitions, the Pirate Festival is set to deliver even more fantastic swashbuckling events than ever.
